I realized recently that I just haven’t drawn enough plain ol’ John fanart and I’ve been pining for John things lately because I just…haven’t done a lot of John things recently and I miss him. :C

I really love it when artist draw him being badass and/or just plain epic and awesome with Breath powers, so I decided to do something along those lines inspired by some pieces I’ve seen because it was about damn time. Plus it gave me a good excuse to play around with light sources, color palettes and the luminosity setting in Sai. Except for the lineart, every color I used was a shade of blue, so it’s really interesting to see how different that looks when they’re all next to each other.

Anyway, this was a fun little exercise and I’m actually really really pleased with the result.
